About Me

Ansley
Nashville, Tennessee
In 1719, Isaac Watts penned one of my favorite hymns, "My Shepherd Will Supply My Need." The last verse reads, "The sure provisions of my God attend me all my days; O may thy house be my abode, and all my work be praise. There would I find a settled rest, while others go and come; no more a stranger, nor a guest, but like a child at home." I've always loved this image and the evocation of complete peace and rest and even silliness. And as I muddle through these years of my life and seek to create some sense of home here in the Music City, it's a good reminder that as good as life is, my true home is not in this world. One day, we'll all be children at home again.
